Kite Festival - 31st July / 1st August

Linda Byrne writes:

If its not too late, I can update you with regard to the Kite Festival (31 July & 1 August), but unfortunately we didn't take any photographs.  For people who weren't around that weekend, the kites were fantastic and could be seen from miles away.  Both days were quite busy, being the first kite festival people were not sure what to expect.

We had a small stall at the festival selling cold drinks, freshly made popcorn and a chocolate fountain!
We also ran a tombola, with a great variety of prizes, so thank you to everyone for your donations.
There were two different teams on each day - on Saturday; Harriet, Hannah, Fran and Rob and on Sunday
there was; Harriet, Hannah, Fran, Imogen and Barney.  Saturday was overall a quieter day although the
profit raised was £94.80, which was very good - this was shared between all 4 people on the stall, so they raised £23.70 each.  On sunday it was busier, but also, we were able to borrow a tea urn and by sellinghot drinks and some home-made cakes, this brought more people onto our stall and the profit raised was £227.30 - shared between all 5 people, raising £45.46 each.  (A belated) Well Done to everyone.

Linda (Harriet's mum)

Many thanks to Linda Byrne and the rest of the team who helped out.

If anyone has any photographs we would love to see them.
